About Shildy Veruska

I'm
Shildy Veruska, editorial reviewer at
LA CASA SIBARITA. My job is to review every comparison and product review on the site before it's published, to catch mistakes and inconsistencies and make sure what reaches you is of the highest quality.
I've been doing this review work on the site for more than
5 years. I don't analyse the products from scratch, as that's the analysis team's job. Instead I act as a critical second pair of eyes, checking that the data is correct, the information is consistent and every recommendation is well founded before it goes live.
What I review
I review every category of home products that LA CASA SIBARITA publishes. These are the areas I work on regularly.
- Home cleaning. Robot vacuums, vacuum cleaners and smart cleaning solutions.
- Climate control. Dehumidifiers, heaters, stoves and appliances that make your home more comfortable.
- Kitchen and small appliances. Food processors, juicers, blenders and everyday appliances.
- Home security. Alarms, sensors, cameras and home protection devices.
- Sleep and wellbeing. Mattresses and sleep products.
- Beauty and personal care. Hair straighteners, shavers and personal care devices.
- Garden and outdoors. Tools, pressure washers and products for looking after outdoor spaces.
How I review content
I review every comparison and every product review with one clear aim. I look for mistakes, inconsistencies and anything that takes away from the quality or clarity of the content. Before a guide reaches you, I systematically check that
- the technical specifications are correct and match the manufacturer's information;
- there are no inconsistencies between what the text says, the score given and the final recommendation;
- the pros and cons are balanced and no product's weak points are hidden;
- the language is clear and easy to follow for someone who isn't an expert in the category;
- the recommendation fits the type of user it's aimed at;
- the information is still current, with no discontinued models or out-of-date data.
When I find a mistake or an inconsistency, the content goes back to the analysis team to be corrected before it's published. That way I make sure what we publish is reliable and keeps the same quality across every category.
My experience
I've been reviewing LA CASA SIBARITA's content for more than
5 years. In that time I've reviewed everything published on the site, and I still review every new piece of content before it goes out.
Across La Casa Sibarita as a whole, my review work covers:
- Comparisons and guides reviewed: more than 190
- Products covered by my review: more than 650
- Categories I review regularly: around 170
Content that goes through my review
Because I review everything that's published, every review and comparison on the site passes through my hands before it reaches you. Here are some recent examples from the UK edition.
Editorial independence
To a large extent, the review exists to protect the independence of our recommendations, so that no content is published under the influence of the commission a product might earn.
- A recommendation doesn't stand once the product stops being competitive against the alternatives.
- Guides are reviewed when better options appear or the market changes.
- The pros and cons of each product are stated clearly and verifiably.
- Affiliate links don't decide a product's position in a comparison.
Some guides include
affiliate links, which means LA CASA SIBARITA may earn a small commission if you buy through them,
at no extra cost to you. This helps fund the project, but
it doesn't influence our analysis or our recommendations.
